Well here we go, four new songs by Gorillaz have dropped this evening with the stand out track being Andromeda. That’s not to say the other three tracks are bad of course, far from it, but in this article I’ll just be focusing on Andromeda which is absolutely exquisite. Take a listen for yourself:
News emerged last year of Chuck Berry’s first new studio album since 1979 and the first song has been released. After Chuck’s passing a few days ago on the 18th March his new album will be a posthumous release, but it’s a joy that he was able to finish the album before his death. The track is called Big Boys and contains the delicious guitar riffs you’ll always associated with Chuck Berry.
Today Bob Dylan announced a new album, a three disc album to be precise, containing 30 songs considered American standards. The album, Triplicate, isn’t out until the 31st March but one of the songs from that album has been posted online, a gorgeous cover of Sinatra’s I Could Have Told You. Take a listen:
John Mayer’s first single since 2013 has dropped (not counting XO in 2014) and it’s like that country period that included his two previous studio albums never happened. Not that I dislike that period in any way at all of course, but this new single takes Mayer back to his brilliant pop music best. Take a listen:
A new song has been released from Blue And Lonesome, the upcoming album by The Rolling Stones. It’s another fantastically performed blues number, this time a Little Walter cover, which takes you back to their pre-Mick Taylor period of rhythm and blues playing. A new song by the legendary Paul McCartney has debuted from the soundtrack of a new animated movie called Ethel & Ernest. The song, titled In The Blink Of An Eye, is piano based and can be heard right here. Take a listen:
