The Beatles are one of my favourite bands so I thought I’d have a go at ranking their studio albums. There were eleven in total, not including Magical Mystery Tour and Yellow Submarine which aren’t considered “proper” albums or the US only releases that many of you reading this will know. The eleven albums that follow are their major albums, and the ranking is my opinion only. I go from “worst” to best. Let me know your thoughts.
As these opinion pieces have gone on I thought I’d find these lists easier and easier to do. After the 80’s, which was extremely difficult, the 90’s was relatively easy but this one turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. Turns out I have a large number of favourite albums from the 00’s and it was tough deciding on which ones would make my top five. However, I finally did it.
Putting together a list of my top five albums from the 1990’s was an enjoyable one because I grew up listening to a lot of 90’s music. It was also difficult because there was a wealth of albums to choose from and I had to leave some of my favourites out, even though they get an honourable mention at the end of the article.
The previous two articles on the 1960’s and 1970’s were difficult but turning to the 1980’s brought on a new challenge. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t listen to a lot of 80’s music, so the number of albums I had to choose from was significantly smaller. However the following five albums are the albums I decided on as my favourites from that decade.
When starting this piece on my top five favourite albums from the 1970’s I didn’t think it would be as difficult as it turned out to be. Three of the albums were a sure lock from the very beginning, the first three you’ll see below, but the last two needed some extra thinking.
For a new series of articles I pick my top five favourite albums from each decade from the 1960’s onwards. Starting with the 1960’s is exciting because it’s my favourite decade for music and it was going to be tough trying to narrow down my selection to only five albums. After careful consideration I was able to do it with the following five albums making the cut.
