The Beatles Isolated Piano Track: I Am The Walrus

Recorded in September 1967 and written a month earlier, I Am The Walrus was the first song the band recorded after the death of Brian Epstein. There are songs that capture a certain period of time and I Am The Walrus does this perfectly with the 1960’s. Below is the isolated piano track which makes for interesting listening.

Take a listen:

Even though this is stated as a piano track there is some guitar that comes through as well as a number of loop effects towards the end that makes I Am The Walrus so unique. John played a Hohner Pianet electric piano which you can hear on this isolated track and it really sounds fantastic, the foundation the song is built upon in many ways. Although while it’s great hearing this particular isolated track, I Am The Walrus is a song that needs every instrument for the full breathtaking effect to come across so magnificently. Still fantastic to listen to though.
